The ultimate Fast Food!
Yes, the adverts say it, the government says it but the truth is that it is TRUE!
Eggs are the ultimate Fast Food!
And healthy with it! No added preservatives, E-numbers, etc...
Edwina Currie gave eggs a bad name!
Remember the Sam and Ella jokes?
I used to make good old Mayonnaise in-house!!! Absolutely delicious! And then, we were told that we had to use past-your-eyes eggs!
Ready-made Mayonnaise! What a load of oval things!
Anyone who hasn't tasted real Mayonnaise has no idea what they're missing!
My mother, bless her soul, used two forks, back to back to beat a couple of eggs into a delicious Mayonnaise.
Food processors? What's that?
A couple of egg yolks. A smidgen of mustard. A drop or two of vinegar and you start gently beating...
Adding the oil one drop at a time until you feel confident enough and then you add a bit more and a bit more...
Until you have this unctuous, smooth, creamy melange...
That is Mayonnaise!
Feel free to make some at home! I do...
Eggs...

I remember when the adverts on telly used to say
"GO TO WORK ON AN EGG!"
I like eggs a lot!
But I don't think it was Edwina's fault that so many hens were infected with salmonella!
I often have a couple of poached eggs for breakfast. One of the fastest foods around!
No, it wasn't her fault at all but Edwina's political career never recovered after she brought that fact out into the open.
Totalement pour .
C'est frais sans colorant sans conservateur, bref ! nature , bravo Maman Krimo et bravo Krimo digne successeur d'un cordon bleu !
Mac'Do n'a qu'a bien se tenir !
Merci!
This post is great, I love making mayo (never split on me yet)!!!!!
Best breakie in the world poached eggs on toast, sometimes with a slice of ham & Hollandaise sauce Yummy. Just wait until all I have to do is hop skip & jump down my herb garden (how many do you hve ermmm), to pick up my very own fresh eggs, laid for me by my girls!!!
Q, a long time ago, my mother showed me how to salvage a split Mayonnaise "just in case"...
You're lucky to have fresh eggs from your "girls". Nowt like them!
We had many hens on the farm where I grew up. I still wonder why my mother felt their bums for eggs.
I loved the mayonnaise in Brittany when we would dip our prawns in it.
EGGS! nothing quite like them! I do love the odd egg (or six) and on the mayonnaise front its allioli all the way.. :)
Yes, I spent a long time in Brest and the seafood platters were amazing, Pat.
My mother made an great aioli (French) and served it with peeled boiled potatoes. I can still taste it!
One of the best commercial Mayonnaise I found in Spain is Calvé.
