Krimo's Frozen Assets...

The snow has been with us for nearly two weeks and caused havoc to roads, water pipes and a few bookings.
But on the whole it hasn't deterred the hardy Hartlepool diners who will go out whatever the weather.

Sliding along Church Street on New Year's Eve, I couldn't help but smile at all those hardy revellers, dodging the icy pavements in their short-sleeve shirts and mini-skirts, popping in and out of pubs to fill up on liquid central heating...

I wonder how they stop their berries shrivelling in sub-zero temperatures!

Salut Krimo,

We always say Lancashire is a top coat colder then Somerset and Hartlepool must be at least two.
Those lads should take care- berries can drop off if they get too cold:)

I could say something about the blue berry muffins I just baked, but I will not. :)))
I wish I could pop into one of your restaurants today; I'm sick of snow AND my own cooking. Again, Happiest of New Years to you and yours.

J'ai adoré la carte du pingouin !! Un grand MERCI !!
Je t'adresse tous mes vœux pour 2010. Que cette année soit encore plus riche !

HAÏ KU à la sauce Crabbers

Au matin
dans le tonneau un hublot
de glace.

Aujourd'hui
quelques baies sales
demain de jolies fleurs.

premier froid d'hiver
ciel immobile, nuages fixes
même mon souffle se gèle.

Arbre figé
fruits givrés
Le cuisinier se surpasse

It looks like the snow is here to stay for a few more days. It's not fun any longer.
Good job we, Northerners are very hardy people.
Happy New Year to all my friends.

One day, L, one day, you never know.

Bienvenue à Mounia! Great blog!

Merci pour ce Haiku, Crabbers! Et quel beau gateau!!

Belated Happy New Year to you and Karen, Krimo! Not as much snow in Brussels but it's brass monkeys all the same. Like you, I'll be supporting both teams when England meet Algeria! (How many JSK boys in the Algerian team?)

Happy New Year, Daphne!
We're still surrounded by the white stuff. White Christmas, ok... but White Easter! Come on!
I think there is only one or two JSK players in the Algerian team... Good luck!
